I’ve always thought about Awdry Stories being adapted during the Model Series, but I pictured what Thomas, Percy and the Coal, Drip Tank, Thomas Gets Bumped and Henry's Forest would look like if they were adapted during the CGI Series.
Thomas, Percy and the Coal and Drip Tank - Coal Spills and Drip Tanks
Plot:
Thomas brags that blue is the only proper colour for a Really Useful Engine. Next day, Percy is shunting when the door on a coal truck opens and coal dust covers Thomas. Thomas and Percy are furious at one another, and the argument gets worse and worse. Several days later, Percy goes to get a drink but collides with a coal bunker, much to Thomas' delight.
Percy wants to make amends with Thomas, but when he gets scratched by a branch, Thomas is rude and Percy decides against it. Later, Percy asks Toby what a drip is, having heard a boy call his friend one at the platform, but Thomas interrupts and calls Percy a drip. Thomas soon gets his comeuppance when his side rod snaps and punctures his water tank on his way home. When Percy goes to help him, Thomas feels ashamed and apologises to Percy, thus mending their friendship.

Trivia
This episode is based off the stories, Thomas, Percy and the Coal and Drip Tank from the Railway Series book, More About Thomas the Tank Engine.
I've been thinking of how Thomas, Percy and the Coal and Drip Tank would be like if they were both adapted in one story during the CGI Series (I'm picturing Topham telling Thomas “How would you like it if someone called you a drip? You wouldn't like it now would you!”), now here are some more Series 3 Magazine Stories written by Brenner that would work well in CGI:
Hello Thomas! and A Bump on the Line - Thomas Gets Bumped
Plot:
Every afternoon as Thomas chuffs along the branch line to the station with Annie and Clarabel, the children on the bridge greet Thomas as he puffs underneath it, while whistling back to them. At the station, Henry grumbles at Thomas for being late as he pulls in and tells him that the Fat Controller will get a new engine if he does not hurry up. Thomas scoffs at this, but later that night, he starts to worry of what Henry had said.
The following day as Thomas hurries along, he sees a small boy waving to him on the bridge. Thomas thinks he has to make up for lost time, but then he hears the boy needs his help and his crew stops the train. Thomas wonders what is the matter, and the boy explains that the school bus has broken down and their parents will be cross if he and the other children are late home for tea.
Soon as the children climb aboard Annie and Clarabel, Thomas takes them to the next station where Bertie the bus is waiting to take them home safely. When he falls behind the schedule at the station, he can see that the Fat Controller and Henry do not look pleased with his attendance. Then the school bus driver arrives and thanks Thomas for helping the children home. The Fat Controller also praises Thomas for his honourable efforts in helping the children and changes his timetable, so then he will have time to say hello to the children on the bridge and not to be late again.
Every morning and evening, Thomas loves taking his passengers along his branch line with Annie and Clarabel. He knows all the passengers at each stop. Thomas also knows every part of his branch line and even a place were there is a bump. They have to go careful along there or otherwise there will be an accident.
One day, Thomas' driver tells him that the workmen will be laying new rails, so the line has to be closed. Thomas is worried who would look after his passengers. Bertie the Bus is given the job. The workmen work on Thomas' line for two weeks and Thomas is very sad to think his passengers like Bertie more than him. At last the line is finished and Thomas works on his branch line once again, but he is still sad.
When he reaches the station, all his passengers are there as usual. Thomas is so happy that he forgets to be careful of the bump, but he does not need worry because the new sleek rails no longer have a bump.

I could picture Thomas Gets Bumped working as a CGI Series episode while Bertie Saves the Day takes it's place in Series 3.
Henry's Forest and Clearing Up - Henry's Forest
Plot:
Henry has seen many things change on Sodor. He remembers how there were no Diesel engines before the big harbour was built. One of Henry's favourite places is the forest of pine trees which he passes when he pulls the express. He can remember when the forest was being planted. Terence and Trevor had helped with the heavy work. When first built, the forest looked a little peculiar seeing the straight rows over the rolling hills. As time passed, the trees grew and now there is a fine forest of magnificent, strong trees.
One day, Henry is passing through the forest when he hears a terrible noise. His driver explains that someone is cutting down the trees. Henry is horrified. His driver continues to explain that the wood is being used for making furniture and railway sleepers. The next day, Henry is sent out to the forest with a train of flatbeds to help the workers clear away the timber. Henry feels sad. Where there had been tall trees now look bare. Henry takes the huge logs to the lumbermill to be cut into planks. Henry is glad the wood is being put to good use, but is still sad to lose part of his forest.
The next day, as Henry goes through the forest, he sees men working there again. They are clearing the stumps away and the branches from the trees. Terence and Trevor are helping. His driver explains that they are going to plant more trees. Henry is now very happy because he has not lost his lovely forest after all.
There has been a terrible storm on Sodor. Many trees have been blown over and there is a great deal of clearing up to be done. Terence and Trevor are called to help and the Fat Controller has to cancel all trains until the lines are cleared of trees.
Thomas, Duck and Toby all work hard by bringing gangs of men to cut up the fallen trees that have been dragged off the line by Terence and Trevor. The trees are then cut up and loaded onto trucks. Thomas, Duck and Toby then take the trucks to the lumber yard and smaller bits of wood are to be burned on a bonfire.
All of the engines are very sad to see such devastation, but none more than Toby. It has taken many years for the trees to grow so tall and beautiful, and now they are gone. Toby wishes there was something they could do, but Thomas is not sure what; after all, fallen trees cannot be mended.
That evening, Toby puffs sadly into the yard where he meets the Fat Controller who asks why Toby is looking so glum. Toby explains that he is sad about the trees, but the Fat Controller tells him not to worry; he will sort something out.
Soon, the main line is clear and the Fat Controller opens it to trains again. Toby, Duck, Thomas, Trevor and Terence all go to work clearing up the branch lines. It is very hard work, but soon Thomas' Branch Line is re-opened. Thomas is delighted to be working with Annie and Clarabel again. Duck goes back to work at the yard and Toby collects Henrietta, thinking he is going to be sent back to the quarry. However, the Fat Controller has a surprise for Toby. He instructs the tram engine to take some trucks out.
In the yard, Toby finds the trucks and cannot believe his eyes; they are packed full of splendid young trees. Toby's job is to take the men out replacing trees along the lines. Toby thinks this is the best job he has ever had.

Trivia
Reference to the first Series episode, The Flying Kipper and the third Series episodes, Gale Warning and Super Rescue are made.
Henry's Forest would have worked better if it was pushed forwards to the CGI Series and had Gale Warning took it's place in Series 3 which makes sense.
If there's anything you want me to change about it, I will update it.
What do you think?
